There was a time that we were happy with the floppy discs as the warehouse device, despite the miniature space; then came the Cd's, which had a much great warehouse capacity and a decent resolution. There after, Dvd's came into existence. These were much great in resolution as well as the warehouse space. However, these can't be said as the best. The most recent that has come up is the Blu-ray Dvd's technology which has wonderful clarity due to the high resolution. These are the ones which are adored these days.

Big banners like Warner Brothers and like are releasing their movies on the Blu-ray discs to have the most of the resolution that a Dvd offers. Clearly, to watch these discs, one need to have a Blu-ray, just like it is needed in case of the normal player. Most recently, the Hd-Dvd technology and this technology were neck to neck, but the Hd-Dvd has been discontinued officially now, leaving this technology to lead the market. Though, both these are almost the same but these would hold dissimilar formats.

These Dvd's are being the recent ones, the Dvd's available to be watched on the Blu-ray would not be the Blu-ray Dvd's. This doesn't mean that you need to have a accepted player with the most recent Blu-ray player to be able to watch the Dvd's which are not the Blu-ray technology enabled.
